This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Allana Vineyard inaugural season. The Vineyard was planted in 2021-2022 with uber tall vines that had surprising vigor. The soil and weather of this vineyard is reminiscent of Bordeaux-style Right Bank, cooler for being closer to the Bay with well drained alluvial soil with a layer of harder day under. The 20 acre vineyard only produced 1 Ton of t which helped develop more depth. For being the first vintage, the wine surprised us all. Although harvested in November 4th, 2023, the cooler climate in Oak Knoll was picked at 22.6 Brix. The wine more austere with higher acids and age worthy. Mostly Cabernet with 4.2% Petit Verdot and a smidge of Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
